Ashford maternity has a long and proud tradition of delivering an excellent service in facilities that are relaxed, modern and comfortable. Its delivery and post-natal rooms are fully equipped with the latest technology and also include en-suite, DVD player, refrigerator and television.

The maternity unit staff are committed to ensuring your birth experience is of the highest standard and aim to ensure you gain confidence and knowledge in the care of your newborn.

Ashford Hospital maternity unit facilities include a special care nursery, which is able to provide support for infants from 32 weeks gestation. The hospital is also equipped with 24 hour medical cover and has an adult intensive care unit in the case of an emergency.

Ashford also offers comprehensive Parenting Education, on a timetable which is flexible and able to be adapted to suit individual requirements.

Hilton TMAshford Baby Bliss

The Ashford Baby Bliss program, in conjunction with the Hilton Hotel Adelaide, offers patients undergoing uncomplicated deliveries the opportunity to be transferred to the Hilton Hotel Adelaide for the remainder of their hospital stay.

The patient’s private health fund covers the cost of the stay, with their obstetrician continuing to oversee their care, and a midwife on-site 24 hours a day.

This innovative program enables Ashford Hospital patients to experience excellence in maternity care while enjoying the comforts of the beautiful Hilton Hotel.

Modern Delivery Suites

 

Ashford Hospital provides comfortable Delivery Rooms to ensure your labour and delivery is a very special time. Ashford encourages you to discuss any individual preferences with your Obstetrician prior to delivery.

Delivery Rooms are equipped with an en-suite, DVD player, refrigerator and television to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

 

Level 2B Nursery

 

Ashford has a Level 2B nursery which is able to provide support for infants from 32 weeks gestation.

 

Lactation Support

 

Ashford Hospital has a commitment to supporting breastfeeding. Lactation Consultants are available on the Post-natal ward, Hospital in the Home and through the New Born support service. Individual consultations are available with the lactation consultants to support the establishment of breastfeeding.

 

Parent Education

 

Ashford's parent education classes are conducted throughout the year and offer flexible options for attendance. Classes include Labour and Birth, Having and Caring for your baby, Breastfeeding and Health During Pregnancy.
