In 1991, Ashford Hospital became South Australia's first private hospital to perform cardiac bypass surgery.  Over 8, 000 patients later, we remain at the forefront of cardiac care.  We devote a large part of our hospital to patients with cardiac conditions and are well equipped with a dedicated cardiac operating theatre, 2 angiography suites and the highest level of private intensive care available in South Australia.  Of our 239 beds, 74 are specifically to care for cardiac and critically ill patients.

We have made it even simpler for you to access leading cardiac specialists 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the Ashford Chest Pain Clinic.  Any acute chest pain or cardiac related symptoms will be assessed immediately and referred to one of our experienced cardiac specialists.  Operating through the Ashford Emergency Department you can rest assured that you are in good hands, we have looked after over 33, 000 people with cardiac complaints through our Emergency Department and with no referral required it is easier than ever to get any chest pain symptoms investigated.
